Ja’Kobi Gillespie scored 21 points, J.P. Estrella added 17, and Tennessee defeated Georgia 86–85 in overtime on Wednesday night, marking coach Rick Barnes’ 850th career victory. Nate Ament contributed 19 points, and Bishop Boswell added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Volunteers dominated the glass, 52–27, including a 26–7 advantage on the offensive boards.

Georgia led 34–28 at halftime, paced by Kanon Catchings’ 14 first-half points and four 3-pointers. Marcus Millender made a floater just before the buzzer to extend Georgia’s lead, and he finished with 19 points, 17 of them coming after halftime. Catchings finished with a season-high 22 points.

In the final moments of regulation, Gillespie hit one of two free throws with 19 seconds remaining to put Tennessee ahead 74–72. Millender responded with a contested layup with 3.6 seconds left to tie the game, sending it to overtime.

During overtime, Bishop Boswell made two free throws to give Tennessee an 85–80 lead, and Millender countered with a 3-pointer for Georgia. Tennessee’s Felix Okpara made one of two free throws with 15.7 seconds left to push the lead to 86–83. Georgia’s Millender converted a layup with 0.6 seconds remaining, but Tennessee held on to secure the victory.
