Thomas Haugh scored 18 points, Rueben Chinyelu added 14 points and 11 rebounds, and No. 19 Florida rolled past South Carolina 95–48 on Wednesday night. Alex Condon chipped in 10 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists as the Gators (15-6, 6-2 Southeastern Conference) bounced back from a loss to Auburn on Saturday.
The game started slowly for both teams, with Florida missing five of its first seven shots and South Carolina going 1 of 6. Florida led 12–8 before taking control with a 36–12 run. Urban Klavzar sparked the surge with back-to-back 3-pointers, while Haugh hit four straight shots, including a three-point play and a 3-pointer, as the Gators scored 10 consecutive baskets to open a 46–18 lead.
Chinyelu was perfect from the field, shooting 7 of 7 for his 12th double-double of the season. Olivier Rioux, Florida’s 7-foot-9 freshman, entered late in the game for the final 1:49 after the crowd called for him, but did not score.
South Carolina (11-10, 2-6 SEC) was led by Eli Ellis with 13 points. Florida’s dominant run allowed them to match their largest margin of victory in an SEC road game, while the Gamecocks dropped their third straight game to the Gators and fifth in their last six.
