No surprise that the defending champs are the favorites at -155…followed by the Commanders at +230…the Cowboys in a distant 3rd at +650…and the Giants with the 2nd longest odds of any team right now to win their division at +2500.
But as for those Eagles…my question is: will this defense still be as dominant as the one we saw shut down Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs a few months ago?
The Birds have undergone some major changes on that side of the ball. Howie decided to move on from Darius Slay and CJGJ…2 of their top 3 guys in sacks left in free agency, between Josh Sweat and Milton Williams…and of course Brandon Graham retired as well. Those are some big shoes to fill on Vic Fangio’s squad…and while there are a lot of unknowns, Philly does have a ton of options.
Bryce Huff gets a chance to pick up the slack in the pass rushing department after the big deal he signed last offseason…2nd round pick Andrew Mukuba out of Texas and Sydney Brown will have a shot at that safety spot…and I can’t wait to see Vic put 1st rounder Jihaad Campbell’s versatility to use. This defense may look different, but that doesn’t necessarily mean worse…and Howie has been bracing for this by drafting guys like Nolan Smith, and Quinyon, and Cooper DeJean over the last few years.

And listen…the Eagles might not have to have the #1 defense again to repeat because of all of the talent they have on offense…but all of this turnover they’ve had IS something to keep an eye on as they try to defend that Lombardi.
