North Carolina ambushed Arizona in Game 1, scoring five runs in the bottom of the first inning on the way to an 18-2 win on Friday. Jake Knapp notched his 14th win of the season - tying the school record in a season - going 7.0 innings, allowing only two runs and controlling the top of the Wildcat order throughout. Hunter Stokely's first inning three run home run set the tone offensively and the Heels did not look back.
