Big Blue Breakdown podcast host Paul Dottino recently sat down with former Giants linebacker Brandon Short for an insightful, in-depth conversation about one of the team's most exciting new prospects: edge Abdul Carter.

During the discussion, Brandon drew on his own experience as an NFL linebacker and Penn State alum to break down what makes Carter unique—from his relentless motor on the field to his impressive adaptability after switching from linebacker to edge rusher.

Hear Brandon share his thoughts on Carter's rapid development, what he still needs to learn as he transitions to the NFL, and how he might fit into the Giants’ defense alongside big names like Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns.

The discussion covers everything from technique, physical development, and learning curves to Carter’s character, leadership, and community involvement. Plus, Brandon offers valuable advice for rookies entering the league and updates us on his impactful work with The Karli Short Better Tomorrow Foundation.

Whether you're a fan eager to know what Carter will bring to Big Blue or just love hearing football minds talk shop, this episode offers a can't-miss perspective on the Giants’ latest draft class and the qualities that make great players—on and off the field.

ABOUT BRANDON SHORT
Brandon Short was a fourth-round draft pick by the Giants in 2000 out of Penn State. The inside linebacker spent four seasons with the Giants before moving on to Carolina for two seasons. Short, 6-3 and 245 pounds, finished his NFL career with the Giants in 2006. Now a successful businessman and the founder of The Karli Short Better Tomorrow Foundation, named in honor of his late daughter and her unborn child, who were both tragically lost to gun violence, Short has remained in tune with his alma mater's football program as well as the Giants.
