The roster consisted of the team's seven draft choices, along with 13 undrafted rookie free agents, and a slew of tryout players. Head coach Brian Daboll took the players through warmup drills, individual positional drills and then 7-on-7 passing snaps (although Jaxson Dart was the only draft pick to participate in the 7-on-7s in order to give him a better feel for his specific position).
Of note, edge rusher Abdul Carter showed how he was over the foot injury that was discovered at the NFL Combine as he displayed quickness and agility while going through each of the linebacker drills with ease. Dart consistently unleashed tight spirals and had little to no trouble tossing accurate passes through Saturday's wind gusts of up to 30 miles per hour.
Overall, there was a strong positive vibe from the team's rookie class, which handled its initial test with a methodical, professional approach that clearly impressed the coaching staff.
