First baseman Michael Busch has become a key member of the Cubs since being traded to the Cubs from the Dodgers in the winter of 2024. But before he played for the Cubs, and before being drafted by the Dodgers 31st overall in the 2019 draft, Busch was an All-ACC player for the North Carolina Tar Heels. He played three seasons for UNC, starting 167 of 184 games, primarily at first base. He finished his career with 32 home runs, 169 runs scored, and is second all-time in North Carolina history with 142 career walks.
