North Carolina and NC State have one of the ACC's longest and most popular rivalries. Peppers is perhaps the greatest athlete to lace them up at the defensive end position. He was a two-time All-American that won the Bednarik Award in 2001. His 30.5 sacks were eighth all-time in the history of the conference and his 53.0 tackles for loss placed eleventh all-time. "Super Mario" was an athletic freak of nature in his own right after being a two-time first-team All-ACC selection.
