The greatest Georgia Tech football team since the turn of the century is unquestionably the 2009 team. In 2009, Georgia Tech won the program's first ACC championship since it won a share of the title in 1998. The 2009 team was the height of Paul Johnson's triple-option attack offense, leading Johnson to consecutive ACC Coach of the Year awards. Josh Nesbitt at quarterback and Jonathan Dwyer at running back became the top rushing duo in Georgia Tech history. And when Nesbitt wasn't running the ball, he was throwing bombs down the field to the ACC's leading receiver that year, Demaryius Thomas. The Yellow Jackets had the top offense in the ACC that season, and on defense, they had the conference's Defensive Player of the Year in Derrick Morgan.
