The Seattle Seahawks got one of the steals of the draft in 2024, after there was a run of 14 straight offensive players taken, landing the man who John Schneider said was the team's highest rated defender in the entire draft. Byron Murphy arrived with big expectations, and the talent to be one of the most dynamic interior players in the sport, but something happened on the way to the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. The Seahawks become incredibly light at the nose tackle position, while they had a trio of 3-tech's. With Leonard Williams have a Defensive Player of the Year type season, Byron moved to the nose tackle position out of necessity. And while he helped up well, and had a strong rookie year, he was often stuck behind double team blocks and had his impact neutered because of it.
